The Watamu Marine Association is located on the Kenyan coast. They have developed a business model that keep their beaches clean. This brings local communities together with the tourism industry in order to collect, repurpose and recycle plastic waste.

This is a small-scale circular economy that has big potential. And it can be replicated anywhere in the world where there’s a coastal tourism industry. It’s about collaborating towards restoring coastlines, and addressing the global issue of marine litter.
