The Gambia is a popular destination for sex tourism. Sex tourism attracts western tourists — primarily women — who are eager to have sex with younger men. Prostitution is illegal in The Gambia, but poverty often leads many young men and women to try and make a living as so-called “bumsters”. But how high is the price for a “better life”? DW’s Edith Kimani went to The Gambia to meet with some of the young people working in the sector.
